Compare camera and microphone sources

Keep all originals and listen to the camera soundtrack and any separate microphone file. Choose the clearer source based on intelligibility, distortion and room sound. A higher nominal sample rate does not establish that a distant recording is better.

Check permissions for voices, background material and music. Before uploading a processing copy, remove private notifications and unwanted off-camera conversation.

Decide the edit before finishing the sound

Assemble the intended narration and visual sequence. Keep enough pauses for demonstrations to make sense. Mark traffic, a door closing, handling noise or clipping that coincides with an important instruction. A replacement take may solve an isolated damaged phrase more cleanly than a strong effect across the whole video.

Compare a cleaned video or an editor replacement

Studio supports a complete cleaned-video workflow for supported MP4 and MOV inputs. Check current size, duration and allowance before submitting. If you are working in an editor with a separate soundtrack, you may instead process that audio and align it yourself.

For either route, compare a quiet phrase and a noisy passage. Preserve the original; quieter background alone is not evidence that the voice was preserved.

Balance narration, music and other sounds

Make speech understandable before raising the overall level. Reduce music under explanations and retain important demonstration sounds where needed. Listen at a modest volume on a small speaker as well as headphones. If words disappear under the mix, adjust the relationship between tracks rather than simply making everything louder.

Use the current requirements of your chosen publishing workflow rather than assume one loudness number guarantees a good result.

Inspect the final file

• Check picture, audio and captions from the first frame.
• Review every replacement and transition.
• Check sync again near the end of a longer video.
• Confirm duration, final sentence and intended file format.
• Keep sources and an editable project after publication.
