Start with the least-processed source

Use the camera original or editing master where possible, not a copy downloaded after repeated social uploads. Preserve the original clip. If you have a separate microphone recording, compare it with the camera soundtrack before choosing a source.

Check that you are permitted to process and publish every voice and music recording in the clip. Remove accidental private material on an editing copy.

Fix the voice before adding music

Listen without the music bed. Mark a noisy opening, quiet phrase and sharp interruption. If words are missing because of clipping or masking, a retake may be more reliable than stronger processing. Use a suitable mode in Studio and compare one result against the source at similar volume.

For supported video inputs, review the complete cleaned-video result. Manually replacing a soundtrack is an optional editor workflow, not a required step for every MP4.

Keep music from hiding the explanation

Add or adjust music after the speech is understandable. Reduce the bed during words rather than turning the entire soundtrack up. Listen on a phone speaker at a modest volume: bass-heavy music that seems unobtrusive on headphones can still mask the voice.

A speech-cleanup tool is not a guarantee of music separation. If voice and music are already mixed, keep a copy and compare carefully before accepting changes.

Caption the final edit

Correct captions after cuts and soundtrack replacements. Check names, numbers and the first word of each sentence. Leave captions visible long enough to read and ensure they match what is audible; do not use a confident caption to disguise an uncertain repair.

Check that caption placement does not hide an important on-screen demonstration.

Review the file you will upload

• Play the first and last frames with sound.
• Check speech after every jump cut.
• Check lip sync and caption timing.
• Listen on headphones and a small speaker.
• Keep the original and an editable project.
